Member States and Candidate Countries Begin WTO Harmonisation
Ljubljana, 11 May - The fourth round of regular harmonisations between EU member states and candidate countries, which is part of the preparations for a new round of negotiations with the World Trade Organisation (WTO), kicked off in Ljubljana on Friday. The standpoints of the European Union and the candidates for membership are harmonised, while the new round of negotiations will be endorsed tommorrow in a joint statement, the European Commissioner for Trade Pascal Lamy stressed in his address at the commencement of the two-day meeting.
