Slovenia Lifts Ban on Imports of Cloven-Hoofed Animals from Central and Eastern Europe

Ljubljana, 11 May - As of Friday the ban on imports of cloven-hoofed livestock from Central and Eastern Europe, which the Slovene Veterinary Administration imposed to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease, will no longer apply. Slovenia has recently already lifted the ban on imports of meat and meat products from the region, while restrictions still apply to EU member states.
