Bank Austria Creditanstalt Gives Emphasis to Loans

Ljubljana, 17 May - The Slovene branch of Bank Austria Creditanstalt (BA CA) had a profit of SIT two billion (EUR 9.2 million) in 2000 according to international accounting standards, which is double over 1999. The bank's capital adequacy was at 14.5 percent at the end of 2000, while its market share in the Slovene banking is over three percent with balance sheet assets at SIT 95 billion (EUR 440 million), which places the bank ninth largest bank in Slovenia. According to BA CA's Chairman of the Board Joachim Reitmeier, the bank's loans are to amount to ten percent of Slovenia's bank loans in the next few years.
