Slovenia Progressing toward EU, Says Central Bank Governor
Portorož, 17 May - The 18th conference on finances and stock markets was launched in the coastal town of Portoroz on Thursday. Bank of Slovenia's Governor Mitja Gaspari, who spoke at the opening of the three-day conference, said that Slovenia is on a good path towards the EU and is rapidly approaching its goal. Gaspari pointed out two inconsistencies between Slovenia and the EU, namely the interest rates and the value of tolar upon Slovenia's EU accession. Minister of European Affairs Igor Bavcar explained the details of the EU negotiations to the participants of the conference.
