Future of Duty-Frees Uncertain, So Are Slovenia's EU Negotiations
Brussels/Ljubljana, 29 May - The EU does not wish to comment on Monday's decision of the Slovene Constitutional Court to delay the implementation of the duty-free reform act, as the decree has not yet been officially presented to Brussels, according to the EU's chief negotiator for Slovenia, Jaime Garcia Lombardero, and European Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verheugen. The owners of the Slovene duty-free shops which were to close on 1 June have reported to be pleased with the Court's decision, but are however facing uncertainty.
