Rupel Discusses Foreign Policy and EU Issues at Expert Seminar
Portorož, 1 June - Slovenia's foreign policy is fairly young, as only ten years ago the country was still part of the former Yugoslavia. A similar, but not the same fate, is awaiting Slovenia upon membership in the EU. However, unlike the former Yugoslavia, equality of smaller countries in common policies will be ensured by the EU. How successful Slovenia is in defending its own interests in Europe will depend on the Slovene citizens' attitude toward their country, said Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel on the aspects of Slovenia's foreign policy at a seminar on political science in Portoroz on Friday.
