Changes to Protection of Personal Data Act to Be Sent to Parliament
Ljubljana, 1 June - Proposed changes to the act on protection of personal data, which have been harmonised to EU criteria and foresee the establishment of an appropriate inspectorate and the transfer of institutional control to the ombudsman, were adopted at a correspondence session of the government on Friday. Two operative programmes of adapting Slovenia's textile, leather and shoe industries to the EU internal market between 2001 and 2003 were also adopted by the government. Both programmes are to support projects in marketing and modernisation in all three fields, was reported from the Economics Ministry today.
