Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 26 May to 1 June
Ljubljana, 2 June - The past week was marked by lively activity in the Slovene foreign affairs. Numerous visits abroad and participation at conferences, which mainly focused on EU and NATO issues, were rounded off by Friday's latest round of EU accession negotiations. Slovenia closed a further two chapters of the acquis, however, it was not all rosy as the EU presented its plan to restrict the free movement of labour from the new candidates, among them Slovenia. As expected, Slovene negotiators deemed such a restriction unacceptable.
