2001 Kozina Music Award Goes to Ivo Petric

Ljubljana, 4 June - Slovene composer Ivo Petric is the recipient of the 2001 Kozina Award, an award conferred annually by the Slovene Composers' Association for a music opus. Petric, who will turn 70 next week, has been awarded for five string quarters composed from 1956 to 1996. The five compositions are considered a significant contribution to Slovene music, and are one the finest compositions of their kind, according to the association.
