Daily Finance on the Privatisation of Slovene Banks
Ljubljana, 5 June - The privatisation of Slovene banks is probably urgent, yet not because of Brussels or because we would not like to lag behind other countries in transition. It is important for a bank who are their owners, yet it will probably be difficult to sell Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB) and Nova kreditna banka Maribor (NKBM) to Slovenes, not because they do not have the money, but because they do not wish to have so many shares of two banks for which they have to pay a real price, Ivan Ribnikar, professor of the Ljubljana Economics Faculty and member of the Bank of Slovenia council, writes in the business daily Finance on Tuesday.
