Slovene Delegation Presents Result of China Visit

Ljubljana, 14 June - A delegation of the Slovene Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, headed by MP Jelko Kacin, presented on Thursday their visit to China, which took place from 3 to 12 June. Talks with the Chinese were very open, focusing on economic and political co-operation as well as on human rights, said Kacin. The visit did not pass without some controversy, however, since Kacin, in an interview for the the Chinese press agency Xinhua, said that "Tibetans have the right to fully express their religious beliefs and lead a happy life", sparking consternation from Amnesty International Slovenia, who demanded a full explanation of this statement.
