Changes Remain Key Challenge Also in Next Decade, Says President Kucan

Ljubljana, 15 June - The ten years of Slovenia's independence have been successful in politics and economy, on the international scene and in terms of development, Slovene President Milan Kucan told a traditional press conference he gives prior to the independence anniversary. However, despite a successful anniversary Slovenia has to do away with a number of shortcomings: it should complete privatisation, retain a high degree of social cohesion, lay more importance on environmental protection, and invest more in education. "Changes will remain a key challenge also in the next decade", which Slovenia is entering with solid foundations, Kucan added.
