Letter to Prime Minister Says: Your Government Has Transformed Slovenia into Police State
Ljubljana, 15 June - BUSH - PUTIN/PROTEST
"Your government has transformed Slovenia into police state on the occassion of the Bush-Putin meeting in Ljubljana," is written in a letter addressed to Slovene Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek. "You are certainly aware that the duty of a democratic government is to secure freedoms and liberties to its citizens, and human rights to everybody," says the letter signed by university professor and writer Rastko Mocnik
and sent through electronic mail to the prime minister. Mocnik appealed to the prime minister "to honour this committment on June 16, the day of the meeting, as well as on every day of your mandate."
