Slovenia Hopes to Sign EU Accession Agreement at Copenhagen Summit, Says Minister Bavcar
Gothenburg, 16 June - Decisions made at the Gothenburg EU summit setting a schedule for successful conclusion of accession negotiations in 2002, which would enable Slovenia to take part in the European elections in 2004 as a full member of the EU, have exceeded all expectations, said Slovenia's Minister of European Affairs Igor Bavcar at a meeting of EU heads of governments and their candidate countries' counterparts in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Saturday. Bavcar emphasized that Slovenia appreciates the summit's resolutions and hopes to sign an accession agreement at the Copenhagen EU summit at the end of 2002.
