Higher Health Insurance Premiums to Solve Financial Problems in Health Care
Ljubljana, 20 June - Funds gathered from compulsory and optional health insurances do not sufficiently cover the increasing health care expenditures, therefore the Health Ministry faces a dilemma, i.e. whether to reduce the number of health services provided or to secure more money for health care. As Health Minister Dusan Keber told the social partners gathered in the economic and social council on Wednesday, the government chose the second option, but the question remains how to ensure a just source of incomes.
