Independence Was Not a Child of National Egoism, Pahor Believes
Ljubljana, 25 June - "Slovene independence was not a child of national egoism, it was given meaning by democracy and the transition into a modern world. Therefore our century-long longing for independence is not contrary to our plans of becoming members of Euro-Atlantic institutions, but a logical continuation," Parliament Speaker Borut Pahor said in the address to the ceremonial session of the Slovene Parliament, marking the tenth anniversary of Slovenia's independence.
