Slovenes Are Part of the New World, President Kucan Believes
Ljubljana, 25 June - "Today, Slovenia is an established and well-respected country. This is a testimony to our internal strength and efforts we have invested because we understood the time and reacted to it", President Milan Kucan said Monday at the central event marking Slovenia's 10th National Day. The celebration was attended by the highest state officials, the diplomatic corps in Slovenia and guests from abroad, among them the guest speaker, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, who said in his address to the Slovene nation that "Slovenia can be proud of what it has achieved in the past ten years. It has built up a stabile democracy, that is being appreciated by the whole world, as well as a successful national economy."
