Slovene Banks and Savings Banks Increase Profits by 97 Percent in 2000
Ljubljana, 28 June - Total profits of all Slovene banks and savings banks, expressed in nominal terms, soared by 97 percent in 2000 to stand at SIT 20.1 billion (EUR 92.5 million). Compared to 1999, profits of banks increased by 98.5 percent to around SIT 20 billion (EUR 92 million), while profits of savings banks were up 13.3 percent, totalling SIT 122.3 million (EUR 560,000), data released by the Bank of Slovenia indicate.
