Referendum on Duty-Free Shop Closure Unlikely

Ljubljana, 21 July - The non-parliamentary New Party late on Friday evening submitted to parliament 22,567 signatures collected in support of a referendum on the transformation of duty-free shops, which is only about half the number of signatures required for the initiative to succeed. This gives the parliament a green light to publish the disputed act, which could come into force in autumn.
