Slovenia to Invest Less to Power Industry to Meet Kyoto Protocol Obligations

Ljubljana, 24 July - To meet the obligations resulting from the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol, Slovenia will have to renounce some investments to the power industry, a branch of industry producing the largest amount of green house effect emissions in Slovenia, and somewhat limit traffic, an area in which the amount of CO2 is growing fastest. This was said by Slovene Environment Minister Janez Kopac on Tuesday after returning from a conference of countries - signatories of the UN convention on climate change which was held in the German city of Bonn from 19 to 23 July.
