Slovenia's accession to the EU will be a great challenge for the Slovene minority living along Slovenia's borders, as the minority will get an opportunity to strengthen its ties with the homeland in terms of economy, culture, science and more. This view was shared by Slovene minority representatives in a debate on what Slovenia's EU membership will have in store for Slovene minorities. The debate was organised by the city of Maribor, northeastern Slovenia, on Tuesday.
