Gov't Begins Process of Constitutional Amendments

Ljubljana, 26 July - The Slovene government adopted on Thursday proposals for the beginning of the process of constitutional amendments. The changes are linked to 19 articles of the Constitution; in addition to changes linked to Slovenia's membership in the EU and other forms of international co-operation they are also envisaged in fields concerning the referendum, the appointment and formation of the government, the local self-government and the appointment of judges.
