Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 21 to 27 July

Ljubljana, 28 July - The parliamentary foreign affairs committe approved the draft border agreement between Slovenia and Croatia on Wednesday. The agreement is now ready to be signed by Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek. The Croatian parliament is to discuss the draft agreement at the end of August. The agreement, which was presented to the public on Wednesday, was also a topic at the meeting of Slovene and Croatian Presidents Milan Kucan and Stipe Mesic in the Croatian coastal city of Umag on Sunday. Slovene Interior Minister Rado Bohinc attended a meeting of interior ministers of Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia in Salzburg in the second half of the week, while his colleague, Defence Minister Anton Grizold met with NATO Secretary General George Robertson in Brussels on Wednesday.
