Carinthian Slovenes Negotiate on Bilingual Schools

The heads of both umbrella Slovene minority organisations in Austria, President of the National Council of Carinthian Slovenes Bernard Sadovnik and President of the Union of Slovene Organisation Marjan Sturm, attended talks on the issue of bilingual schools in the Austrian province of Carinthia at Austria's Education Ministry on Monday. The talks explored options of Austria's federal legislation to solve the issue of the bilingual schools in Carinthia which are to be transformed into subsidiaries, a decision recently taken by the Carinthian provincial government, said Sadovnik.
