Weekly Review of Slovenia's Economy from 25 to 31 August
Ljubljana, 2 September - Slovene agriculture and accompanying industries were in the focus of lively debates the last week of August at the 39th Agriculture and Food fair in Gornja Radgona. Disputes around the renewed attempt to supply fresh capital to the Zavarovalnica Triglav, the largest Slovene insurance company, have continued as well, as the Finance Ministry opposes the move due to the unfinished privatisation process in the company. After months of disputes, the telecoms utility Telekom Slovenije and Incotel, a company offering Internet telephony services, finally signed a contract on inter-network connection. And in the week when several major Slovene companies posted encouraging half-year profits, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce warned the government once again that prices and inflation were too high.
