"Agreements Have to be Respected," Slovene and Italian Foreign Ministers Agree
Ljubljana, 11 September - "Agreements have to be respected." This was the common standpoint stemming from Tuesday's talks between Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and his Italian counterpart Renato Ruggiero in Ljubljana. The standpoint which the ministers agreed applies to a number of issues between the countries, among them the compensation for the esuli - the Italian citizens who opted to leave Slovenia after WWII. Italian support for Slovene membership in the EU was also emphasised as part of the visit.
