Slovenia's Economy to Resist Effects of American Tragedy
Ljubljana, 12 September - Slovene companies exporting to the U.S. will be affected by yesterday's acts of terrorism in the U.S., however most of the exporters still expect to reach the anticipated exports to the U.S. market by the end of 2001. The U.S. is Slovenia's seventh largest trade partner, representing three percent of Slovenia's entire exports. The Slovene benchmark SBI 20 index, on a steep rise last week, dropped substantially by 3.23 percent today, most likely due to the shock on international stock markes, stock broker at Slovenia's Abanka, Tadej Tufek, told STA.
