Reform of Slovene Armed Forces in Full Swing
Postojna, 12 September - Presenting a reform of the Slovene Armed Forces (SV) by 2004 at a press conference on Wednesday, Chief of Staff Ladislav Lipic said the reform is necessary because of Slovenia's changed geostrategic role, a different social environment and new forms of threats. After the reform is carried out, SV corps will count up to 30,000 members, while some commands, units and training centres will be terminated due to better efficiency and lower costs, said Lipic.
