Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 8 to 14 September
Ljubljana, 15 September - The terrorist attacks on the U.S. resonated in Slovenia. Top Slovene officials sent their condolences to the American people. No Slovenes have been reported dead or injured. The National Security Council assessed that Slovenia is in no direct danger of such attacks at present. Austrian Foreign Minister Benita Ferrero-Waldner postponed her visit to Slovenia until October, while her Slovene counterpart Dimitrij Rupel met with Italian Foreign Minister Renato Ruggiero on Tuesday before the attacks took place. Slovene President Milan Kucan travelled to Croatia on Friday, but returned in time for a commemorative session of the Slovene Parliament.
