Slovenia Sees Stronger Trade Performance in First Seven Months of 2001
Ljubljana, 18 September - The deficit in the current account of the balance of payments for the first seven months of 2001 is down significantly over that in the same period last year, it was revealed at Tuesday's press conference, held by the Bank of Slovenia. According to the head of the financial statistics sector at the central bank, Janez Fabijan, the better results are a consequence of a fairly strong growth in exports in the first seven months of the year - exports are up US$ 321.9 million or 6.2 percent in this period year-on-year.
