Economic and Social Council Examines Budget Memorandum
Ljubljana, 19 September - The government is aware of the difficult economic situation which Slovenia could face in the next year and has thus adjusted the budget to acommodate this, Finance Minister Anton Rop told today's session of the Economic and Social Council, which examined the budget memorandum, macro-fiscal scenario and budgetary outlines for 2002 and 2003. The negative effects are not expected to be a consequence of last week's terrorist attacks against the U.S., but a result of a general fall in economic growth around the world, Rop stressed.
