The Slovene Philharmonic Celebrates 300th Anniversary in Renovated Building
Ljubljana, 26 September - A ceremony was held on Tuesday evening at the opening of the renovated building of the Slovene Philharmonic, which this year celebrates the 300th anniversary of the first Slovene music association, called Academiae philharmonicorum Labacensis at the time. The event was attended by President Milan Kucan, who was confident that the Slovene Philharmonic will successfully continue its mission and tradition that initiated the establishment of this important institution of spirit and culture. At the occassion the Slovene Philharmonic performed music by 20th century composer Uros Krek and baroque composer Janez Krstnik Dolar.
