Companies Owning Banks Is Not Good for Corporate Banking, Central Bank Governor Says
Maribor, 29 September - There is no direct indication in the bank privatisation programme that the largest present borrowers could become new owners of the two state-owned banks, as it is impossible to know whether such companies will take part in the privatisation process. Should this nevertheless happen, however, theories and experiences from other countries indicate that such owners are not good for corporate banking, Mitja Gaspari, Governor of the Bank of Slovenia told Saturday's edition of the daily Vecer.
