Battle for Slovenia's Second Largest Brewery Goes On

Ljubljana, 2 October - The world's second largest brewery, Belgium Interbrew, has been holding intensive takeover talks with major shareholders of Slovenia's second biggest brewery, Pivovarna Union, however, the outcome of the negotiations cannot yet be disclosed, the Interbrew press representative Corneal Maes told a news conference on Tuesday. Outlining Interbrew activities, Maes highlighted the advantages Pivovarna Union would gain from a strategic partnership with the Belgium company.
