Euroleague Opening Tournament: Cibona Glides by Panathinaikos

Ljubljana, 2 October - The fact that this year's Euroloeague competition is going to be a close battle is already known. Further proof of this was delivered in Ljubljana on Tuesday in the first match of a strong six-team Euroleague opening tournament - boasting teams that have won a total of 179 titles of some sort between them - when Croatia's champions Cibona Zagreb easily defeated last year's Suproleague runners-up and one of Europe's best teams Panathinaikos 94:76 (24:26, 39:40, 68:52).
