World Cup Qualifying: Slovenia in Playoff After Win Over Faroe Islands

Ljubljana, 6 October - The Slovene national football team defeated the Faroe Islands 3:0 (2:0) in the crucial Group 1 World Cup qualifier played in Ljubljana on Saturday. Slovenia thus secured second place in the group which leads to an additional two-leg playoff against the second placed team from Group 8, which was held by Romania coming into today's round of matches.
