Friuli Venezia Giulia Allocates Funds to Slovene Minority

Trieste, 13 October - ITALY/SLOVENIA/MINORITY
Unexpectedly the provincial government of Italy's Friuli Venezia Giulia approved the allocation of funds from public contributions to cultural institutions of the Slovene minority in Italy on Friday, reported the Trieste-based Primorski dnevnik on Saturday.
Thus the government acted against the stance of the commission for culture of the provincial parliament that on Thursday froze the allocation of funds to the Slovene minority.
