Slovenia Sees Fewer Illegal Immigrants in First Nine Months of 2001

Ljubljana, 20 October - The number of illegal immigrants that crossed the border into Slovenia is down 18 percent year-on-year, statistics for the first nine months of 2001 show. A total of 17,825 illegal immigrants thus crossed the Slovene border in the first three-quarters of 2001, as compared to 21,658 last year, the Slovene Police said.
