Privatisation Must Be Transparent, Says President Kucan
Maribor, 5 January - "If banks are an element or at least an instrument of Slovenia's national identity, the state should have a privatisation strategy for state-owned banks which would also include a stance on selling them to foreigners and on the possibility of state co-ownership, a stance which would protect nationally significant sectors through the banking sector," President Milan Kucan told the daily Vecer, commenting the relationship between politics and economy.
