Interbrew Pays SIT 90,000 per Union Share
Ljubljana, 8 January - Interbrew paid 4.2 billion Slovene tolars (18.95 million euros) to the state-run fund Pension Fund Management (KAD) for its 10.36-percent stake in Slovenia's second largest brewer Pivovarna Union. Paying SIT 90,000 or EUR 406 for one Union share, Interbrew has raised its takeover bid from SIT 87,000 or EUR 392.5. The bid for the takeover of all Union shares has thus been extended from 10 to 17 January. By acquiring the KAD's stake, Interbrew has become an approximately 38-percent owner of Union.
