No EU Newcomer Will Be Net Contributor, Says Spanish Ambassador

Ljubljana, 10 January - In line with the EU's financial framework until 2006, including the funds for enlargement which was set down in the 1999 Berlin Agenda, the structure of the funds indicates that future members will only gradually start receiving funds from the common budget, however they will initially all be net receivers of budgetary funds, said Thursday Spanish Ambassador to Slovenia, Luis Felipe Fernandez de la Pena.
