Drnovsek Confirmed as Candidate for LDS Presidency, Lone Surprise in Race for Secretary General

Ljubljana, 10 January - Incumbent President of the leading party in Slovenia and the incumbent Prime Minister, Janez Drnovsek, was overwhelmingly endorsed on Thursday by fellow party members as the candidate to once again lead the party. Drnovsek received 83 votes, while his only opponent Gojko Stanic received only two votes - not enough to run against Drnovsek at the party congress.
