Joint Call by Slovenian and Italian Environmentalists for Preservation of the Karst
Ljubljana, 18 March - PROTECTION/ENVIRONMENT/WWF/SLOVENIA/ITALY
Representatives of the recently established Slovenian Fund for Nature, the Natural Science Association of Slovenia and the Italian regional organisation of the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) for the FruiliÄVenezia Giulia Region and the Trenta Valley presented to journalists their joint cooperation and projects in the border area of both countries. Additionally, they presented their efforts for the preservation and expansion of the habitat of the brown bear across the border into Italy, as well as a joint call by the Italian WWF branch (WWF Italia - Fondo Mondiale per la Natura) and the Slovenian Fund for Nature against the planned construction of a racing car circuit, in the Sežana municipality, within the projected Karst regional park.
