Italian Court Freezes Decree on Monolingual IDs in Bilingual Trieste Communities
Trieste, 20 February - The provincial administrative court of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia on Wednesday froze the implementation of a decree issued by Italian Interior Minister Claudio Scajola in January. The decree, which allows the possibility that in four bilingual communities of the Trieste province identity cards can be released only in Italian and not strictly in a bilingual form as was the practice so far, was frozen until 22 May.
