Former Swiss President Attends a Debate on the Importance of Referendum

Ljubljana, 11 March - A debate on direct democracy in Slovenia was held at the National Council on Monday, also prompted by constitutional amendments proposed by the government which restrict the possibility for citizens to decide about important issues at referendums, the host, member of National Council Franc Vodopivc, explained. The event was also attended by former Swiss President Arnold Koller, who presented his country's rich experience with direct democracy.
