Telekom Slovenije Sees Operating Profits Surge 53 Percent in 2001

Ljubljana, 12 March - Operating revenues of the telecommunications company Telekom Slovenije rose by seven percent last year to total SIT 80.5 billion (EUR 359.8 million), while operating profits surged 53 percent to SIT 3.37 billion (EUR 15 million), unaudited results indicate. Good performance is mainly a result of drastic cuts in costs and the harmonisation of price discords among individual telecommunication services in Slovenia, chairman of the board Peter Grasek told a news conference on Tuesday.
