Politic Interference in Military to be Kept at Minimum, Defence Official Says

Bled, 15 March - The Slovene defence system is largely transparent, submitted to parliamentary control, the mass media, academic research and public criticism, Defence Ministry State Secretary Janko Dezelak said while opening a two-day international conference "Armed Forces and Society in Central and Eastern Europe: Legitimacy and Changes" at Bled, NW Slovenia, on Friday. Also adressing the conference was British Ambassador to Slovenia Hugh Mortimer, who pointed out the need for transparency in armed forces' operation.
