U.S. Ethnic Groups from NATO Candidates to Lobby for NATO Enlargement

Washington, 17 March - Over 100 Americans whose predecessors came from Central and Eastern Europe, including American Slovenes gathered at the Slovak Embassy in Washington on Saturday in a bid to help NATO candidates complete their integration into the Alliance. Americans whose ancestors came from the European countries currently seeking NATO membership adopted a joint declaration, committing themselves to lobby for support for NATO expansion and calling upon U.S. President George W. Bush and Senate to back all candidates which have showed readiness to join NATO.
