Trial Begins Against Three Persons Suspected of Damaging Volksbank of EUR 9 Million
Ljubljana, 25 March - The trial against three persons, suspected of inflicting on the Ljubljana subsidiary of the Vienna-based Volksbank losses of over nine million euros in the past four years, kicked off at the Ljubljana District Court on Monday. In what is the largest ever case of economic crime in Slovenia, two Volksbank employees have been charged with complicity to abuse of office, while an entrepreneur from Celje is suspected of solicitation to crime.
