Daily Vecer Points to Rising Public Debt in the Light of EU Accession
Maribor, 26 March - Over time, more and more information is being thrown around by Slovene officials in their quest to prove that Slovenia is becoming more and more "European". When, for example Prime Minister Drnovsek talks of the Slovene success story, he is sure to bring to the fore information indicating that Slovene GDP had risen to 73 percent of the EU average in the short period since independence. However, officials fail to talk about the rising public debt, the Maribor-based daily Vecer points out on Tuesday.
